I went from severe leaky gut with many food intolerances to a healed gut lining.

I still can’t believe it.

There’s been a lot of questions about what I did to heal so I’m going to give you a quick recap on my treatment and then provide you with the most amazing & informative podcast I’ve ever listened to on leaky gut.

Please remember I am not trying to give you medical advice.  This was the treatment that Dr. Jodi prescribed for me. If you think you have underlying gut issues I’d highly recommend that you make an appointment to see a professional, like Dr. Jodi, who can help you heal.  I'm also not out to make $ off of you.  I'm simply providing you the links of the things I did and I am not getting any compensation in return.

My treatment prescribed by Dr. Jodi:

-90 day elimination of dairy, eggs, soy & gluten
-Digestive enzymes before every meal
-Probiotic at bedtime
-GI Integrity supplement daily
-Castor oil packs to my abdomen at least 3x/week (to help with inflammation)

However, after about 2 months into my treatment I came across this podcast by Dr. Zach Bush titled GMOs, Glyphosate & Gut Health and my life has never been the same.

Actually, if I could recommend you do 1 thing, it would be listen to this podcast.

I know you’re busy, but this information is INVALUABLE.

I’ll do whatever it takes to get you to listen to this.   Watch your kids...buy you a coffee...clean your bathrooms. You name it, I’ll do it because we all need to hear this message so we can take control of our health.

In addition to the treatment Dr. Jodi prescribed I also started taking Dr. Bush’s supplement - Restore.  Even though I’m “healed” I continue to take his supplement because I believe we live in such a toxic environment that it’s almost impossible not to be exposed to chemicals and stressors that wreak havoc on our gut lining.

After the 90 days I took an intestinal permeability test.  I had to drink a solution of lactulose and mannitol and then save my urine for 6 hours and they measure the amount of sugar in the urine after 6 hours.  Apparently, I passed!

Finally, here were Dr. Jodi’s instructions for reintroducing foods (but I hate to admit it... I broke down and relapsed at 100 days and have already reintroduced them.  Sorry Dr. Jodi!)

If you want to play by the rules, here’s what she recommended for reintroduction:

Add in one food, and eat it 3 times in 1 day. Then, stop eating that food or adding any additional foods for 1 week (normally I suggest 3 days, but I’m giving a little extra time for acne) If you don’t notice ANY changes in your skin or any other aspect of your health, it is okay to continue eating that food.  If you do nice any symptoms (headache, joint pain, rash, fatigue, brain fog, abdominal pain, diarrhea/constipation, or other changes to your health), then wait until your symptoms resolve and move on to the next food but continue to avoid that food.

Here is the order I want you to reintroduce:

Eggs

Soy

Dairy

Gluten

As far as my skin, I am almost entirely acne free which has not happened in about 18 years.  I like to think the remaining few are likely due to the stress of motherhood. Perhaps an Rx for a tropical vacation would clear them up. :)

Even though it hasn’t been easy, I’m grateful for this healing journey I’ve been on.  I’m grateful that I can share my story and share all I’ve learned with you and so many others.

Say Goodbye to Inflammatory Seed Oils and Hello to Healthy Cooking

The two things all of our customers have in common (myself included) is: 1) We all grew up on the Standard American Diet. -and- 2) We're all trying to figure out how to get back to eating real, nourishing food - the way God intended. Some of it comes easy, but some of it takes effort to learn how to do new things - like getting rid of seed oils and cooking with traditional fats such as beef tallow instead.

Need To Feed A Crowd? We've Got You Covered With 2 Easy Options Inside

I can't believe Christmas is here! Are you ready?! We'll be busy celebrating with family over the next few days. All the gatherings = all the food. While I love a classic Christmas meal, I don't need 4 of them in a row. We decided to skip the huge meal for my family Christmas and keep things simple (so we don't all have to wear sweatpants!) Instead, we're having hot sandwiches and appetizers.
