A few days ago an overwhelmed new mom reached out to me looking for advice.

One of the accounts she follows on Instagram was talking about the dangers of eating seed oils.

Until having a baby, she never questioned the food she's been eating.

But she was so bothered by what she was hearing so she started doing her own research.

Like so many people who start digging into the food system, she felt helpless and overwhelmed.

She quickly realized seed oils are in just about everything we eat.

And that's a problem.

She was angry big companies don't care they are harming people with their products and they're just out to make money.

I totally agree but when we know better, we do better!

I shared my real food journey with her (which is much like hers) and gave her the alternatives we use:

  • Grass-fed Butter
  • Pastured Lard
  • Coconut Oil
  • Olive Oil
  • Avocado Oil

I told her to get comfortable reading labels and start cooking with these alternatives instead.

Since Thanksgiving is just a week away, I wanted to share my favorite Homemade Pie Crust recipe.

It's seed oil free and it's so delicious.

No guilt for this girl eating pie at Thanksgiving!

Here it is:
